Why don't my downloads on Firefox complete? They get stuck at 98%.

I used to use Firefox 13.0 on my MacBook Pro 13 2010 model. Everything used to work fine. Now, I have a Sager laptop with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 installed and firefox does not complete downloads on Windows 7. It works fine till it reaches about 98%, and then gets stuck. If I pause and continue the installation, the file gets corrupt. If I restart the download, the same deal happens. Till now, I have had to download using the Ubuntu partition and transfer to my windows 7 partition. This is getting annoying. I would very much appreciate a solution.

Hey Ideato,

I tried doing what you told me and the files are downloading now! Unfortunately, every time I try to open them, they throw up an NCIS error or says the files are corrupt. What do I do now?

Thank you very much, kvnstv1

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

See "Disable virus scanning in Firefox preferences - Windows"

You will have to re-download corrupted files.

Hi Cor-el,

I did disable my antivirus during the download. I tried it both ways. It still does not work. In fact, my antivirus itself tells me that the file contains the error mentioned above.

Thanks
