A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I wonder whether any of your add-ons could be causing this? A standard diagnostic for that is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

(Or hold the Shift key while starting Firefox if Firefox is closed.)

In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."

If the freezes stop, this points to one of your add-ons or custom setting as the problem.

If they continue, you might want to try a Firefox reset. Restart normally, and check out this article: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.

I just backed up my bookmarks and reset Firefox. I wasn't aware that you could reset Firefox. I haven't gotten a chance to see if my freezing problem is still persisting, but Firefox is still displayed as this http://gyazo.com/3cdea286787f94f6738eef7f6cf354e5 and I still can't uninstall it.

That error message is a warning that there is a problem with a Facebook script (fbcdn.net is the Facebook content distribution network). Can you pin it down to any particular FB application or service?

And no, you should not delete everything in all your profile folders, because that includes your bookmarks, saved passwords, and other settings. Instead, you could create a new blank profile and test whether that works. In addition to bypassing current add-ons and custom settings, it should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.

Close Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager as described in Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles. Any time you want to switch profiles, close Firefox and return to this dialog.

If that works well, you can check this article to importing bookmarks and other data. Of course, be selective, since if the Reset profile has a problem, some of your personal data could be the problem. Recovering important data from an old profile.

I backed up my bookmarks which is the only personal data I care about, deleted all the profiles in the profile manager, and made a new profile. After I made a totally new profile, I ran CCleaner, a system optimization program that cleans up Firefox and many other things on a computer very nicely. http://gyazo.com/958a243f78237f18dc4537f930eeba6e After cleaning Firefox and creating a new profile, I also reset Firefox again. I don't know if that makes a difference but I'm just trying anything... Also, now that I think about it, I do have Facebook always open when I'm using Firefox. I have only 13 apps associated with my Facebook account but most of them are there because of using Facebook on my HTC Vivid. I never play games on facebook or use weird apps. The only things I do are the usual talking to people on messenger and commenting and such. I don't have a clue why facebook would be making Firefox freeze all the time but I guess it could be a possible cause. I don't think I could pin point where and when, the freezing really is totally random.

I'll reply to this as soon as I experience freezing again but any help on my uninstall not working problem?

Regarding Programs and Features, I don't know why yours shows Firefox 9 or doesn't work. That control panel is populated from the Windows registry, and the Firefox upgrade installers might have failed to update it for reason.

In case you need it, there is an uninstaller here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe

Sometimes an orphaned entry in Programs isn't updated or removed if Firefox updates, but a new entry is added.

If you are comfortable with using the Registry editor then you can remove that entry.

Ok. I just deleted the registry entry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox and now it's not in Programs and Features which is good. Now I didn't mention it in my first post but I did go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe and tried to run the uninstall but when I double click/right click and click open/run as administrator the "helper.exe" file, absolutely nothing happens. The blue circle above the mouse cursor that indicates something is loading appears for a split second but that is it. Also, I hate to say it but my Firefox is still randomly freezing... The uploaded image is just another screenshot of my computer screen with the script error, whether it helps anything or not. I have no clue what else to do and I greatly appreciate and am thankful for all the help and input I've been getting. Any more ideas?

Just to summarize again: Firefox still can't be uninstalled, and Firefox still randomly freezes while internet browsing.

Also one last thing, interesting note, I've noticed that when I don't have Facebook open in Firefox, no freezing occurs, as jscher2000 stated above that the script error is associated with Facebook. Can someone explain that to me? I can't see why all my plug ins are updated including everything associated with adobe and flash.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

Right now I'm running Firefox in safe mode with all plugins and extensions disabled. I have not had any freezing on Firefox yet. Hopefully we can say that plugins are causing this problem. I took screenshots of all my plugins and extensions. They are all up to date and Firefox usually automatically disables anything that it thinks makes Firefox unstable or buggy.

I'm pretty sure it's none of my extensions that are causing the problem because I've had all of them for as long as I can remember and this freezing issue started about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Also, I am very sure that there is no spyware/malware/viruses on my computer... I have scanned with AVG Free edition, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Spybot Search & Destroy, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Windows Defender. Trust me, I know I am clean...

Naturally I'm suspicious of the Facebook plugin, but Safe Mode also disables graphics hardware acceleration and probably some custom settings, so it's difficult to say what exactly is the problem.

So last night after putting Firefox in safe mode with add-ons disabled I have not had any freezing or script errors! I'm glad progress if finally being made. However, which of the fourteen plugins that I have are causing the problems? I'm fine with just uninstalling all of the plugins and only reinstalling essentials such as java and flash. Ideas?

Also, I've been thinking about solution for my uninstall issue with Firefox... Would it work if someone uploaded a copy of their "helper.exe" to a file sharing site such as http://www.filedropper.com/ and I downloaded it and replaced my uninstall with their's... Would that work? I feel like it won't but I'm willing to try anything.

I wonder whether reinstalling Firefox 13 over your existing installation might be a better way to install the helper.exe and any other missing/broken files?

If you restart in Safe Mode, you can check the box to disable add-ons (don't check the other boxes) and Restart to see whether Firefox works with the add-ons disabled. You can selectively reenable the ones you want to run without uninstalling the others just yet.

My firefox 17.01 with flash player 11.5.502..110 and windows 8 Pro x64 with Bitdefender antivirus 2013 hangs all day log. go to amazon and it hangs. task manager no cpu usage. kill process use chrome or opera or ie. but no firefox. i wish i could use my favorite firefox. try disabling just the latest flash and see.
