Gmail and some web sites tell me that I am using an old unsupported version of firefox even though I have release 8.1.0. I have uninstalled firefox from windows and re-installed using safari I still get this message, it has migrated to web sites I use like At&t ( my cell phone provider) how and why is this possable.

Your UserAgent string in Firefox is messed up by another program that you installed.

type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter
If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.
Filter = general.useragent.
Right-click the preferences that are bold, one line at a time, and select Reset.
Then restart Firefox
