Problems with Java

Ok so here's my issue. Due to IT restrictions I have to load my Firefox in a "non-standard" location. Since it is not in the usual directory, the companies "canned" Java load does not work with my Firefox. I do not have admin privileges so I can not load Java from the web site or manually. I used to be able to use the Java Console plugin to get it to work, but since that no longer works in FF 8, I can't even do that.

Does anyone know if there is a way to either get an XPI to activate Java, or manually load the Java DLL files to the plugin directory, to get it to work? Flash has a work around but I can't find one for Java. Any help would be great, thanks.
