I have lost allot of trackpad features. No more zoom, scroll, or movement side to side.

Firefox4 sucks bigtime. Am going to uninstall it and use Chrome. Can't get old version 3.16 to work right after 4 screwed things up. Have uninstalled and reinstalled too many times already. Time to just forget about Firefox. Too bad, I really liked it before.

I'm with you FF 4.01 has forced me away from FF and into Chrome. Chrome kicks butt should have tried it before. To bad about Firefox going to the way side but Chrome grabbed all my book marks and works just like FF use to!

I agree that Firefox 4 blows. I upgraded because it is usually a good thing with Firefox but I see that they have now sold out to the 'Chrome' look and feel.

For crying out loud!!! Stop messing up a good thing.

Screw that. I hate this newly upgraded piece of crap and if I can't go back to something decent, I'll go back to IE or create my own browser.

Fickle or what. People like you go straight from fanatical boasting that you use the most awesome - er, FREE - web browser to moaning like a bunch of spoilt kids cuz the sweetie shop closed for stocktaking one day. You're just the kind who will run off in panic to IE or Chrome to avoid the awful situation of everything not being exactly how you like it, until you spot something equally devastating about their next update.

OK, releasing a new version and missing something like this is unfortunate and the mozilla guys will be kicking themselves, but have you ever tried testing software? Are you sure everything you released would be right first time? I expect that they'll fix the missing trackpad support in about 48 hours. They do minor updates pretty regularly.

They made it a bit more Chromy-looking, which means they're using the screen real estate a lot better (in fact, better than Chrome, and much better looking too). They say it works about 6 times faster than the last version, so they did some good work. I just noticed that even the 20 or so pixels wide icon to refresh a page is re-used when loading a page as the stop icon. Inspired. On a netbook, this kind of thing is very welcome.

It would be nice if they put some more thought into the options for customisation in future, so that those who don't like a new layout can opt to put it back how it was, along with a lot of other choices. But don't forget, they create free software for you. They even let you subscribe to the error report so you're notified as soon as a solution is found. Do much for them recently other than whine?

One thing that's odd - as soon as it updated, it did scroll through the bazillion tabs I have open with the mouse over that part of the window and using the trackpad side, as usual. I have a feeling I also scrolled through a page with the trackpad. Then it stopped working.

Not a big fan of Firefox 4. My homepage doesn't load, back button doesn't work either.

Firefox 4 is BAD. It's seems that know one like this upgrade. like a lot of people I am disapointed with the fact that we are being forced to upgrade to something that is not working. We have no say if we like to go back to the old version. Please give us what works. Firefox 4 does not work. In the mean time I will have to go with something else.

If it is not an improvement and intuitive functionality why do it. This is more trouble than it is a solution!

Unchecked all of the update options, ask me first, etc., but Firefox automatically updates to 4.0. I uninstall, reinstall 3.6.17, and blam! it automatically updates to 4.0. This has been going on now for over a week.

What a pile of crapcake.

I've always loved Firefox but now I have to uninstall it & use Explorer. It crashed so often / would not close - and now won't even open Even when it did work, it wasn't that good Oh well, off to find something else instead - even worse, I've got to take it off 4 machines. How can Mozilla get it so wrong this time?

myself was a FF user for last 12 yrs !! even i remember recommending ppl abt it...but FF 4 is a real PAIN IN THE APPROPRIATE PLACE....

it hogs memory...for simple functions (available by default in previous vers) ,now u have to install add-ons for them (like new tab button, FF4 either lets u have a new tab button OR the "+" button near opened tabs..but U CANT HAVE THEM BOTH SAME TIME!! WHAT THE.......

PC hangs/freezes almost everytime i ran FF 4 ..and for that i have lost valuable data..mind u, my machine config is not outdated. I have reverted back to previous vers FF 3.6...and am NOT UPDATING IT SOON....

ALL OF U FOLKS HAVIN PROBS WITH FF4 : easiest solution for all your probs -

1) get rid of FF4 and install the previous vers - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html after backing up - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information

OR

2) get an alternative browser

yes folks, the above solution will at least give u peace of mind and a more peaceful good night sleep

Help! FF 4.0 now crashes within about 10 seconds of launching. I've quite a few tabs open that I need to keep. Upgraded to 4.01, same problem. I don't want to lose the addresses of the open tabs.

It's been unstable ever since I upgraded from the version prior to 4.0 (regretfully!!!) Crashing and hanging all the time, but usually staying up long enough to use for a while. If I step away from the computer, I would find that FF has crashed.

I've backed up the profile, but not sure if I can go back to a version prior to 4.0x, and still get back to all my tabs. Suggestions??? Jerry

Not fickle. I no longer have a browser that works. Period. I'm not alone apparently.
