I'm using Firefox 3.6.13. It seems to be blocking opening pdfs, e.g. on my brokerage web site. What to do?

I have a similar problem with newspaper puzzle print/download page coming up blank. This started about 5 days ago. I have cleared cache and cookies, updated to Firefox version 3.6.13, updated Flash. I should note everything works fine with IE but have similar problems with Safari and Google Chrome & SeaMonkey.
