After upgrading to Firefox 3.6.11 I lost all bookmarks. I never 'saved' them and followed HELP on "Lost Bookmarks" but still nothing helps.

After upgrading to Firefox 3.6.11 I lost ALL my personal bookmarks. I used HELP under Firefox and found articles on "lost bookmarks on upgrading to 3.6, but nothing has helped. I've previously upgraded without any issues and this is first time this happens. Why are bookmarks being deleted?
