Extension update does not start anymore and why disappeared my (still working) add-ons/extensions in the add-on-manager?
I use ff4 beta3 on a Win7 PC, this problem first appeared in beta 2.
Some extensions still work fine: Adblock plus, NoScript,
Others appear in the shell menu but without purpose: video download helper, ubiquity (a small rectangle behind the arrow in the right-click-menu) and do not work anymore.
Updating the extensions via the button in the management gui dosen't work either.
This problem is permanent. I do not think that this is a problem with a certain extension, but I could be wrong. I had installed approx 30 extensions, many have been disabled.
Thanks a lot,
Andi

Beta 4 is already available (Aug 24): http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html
Beta 5 will probably be released next week: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases/Firefox_4.0b5
You can delete the files extensions.* (extensions.sqlite, extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check.
