Firefox built-in VPN won't save excluded websites

jjh

For the built-in VPN, I'm able to add websites to exclude either manually in the settings (Built-in VPN > Manage website settings) or from the webpage itself using the VPN icon. However, even when I save, if I close and re-open Firefox, the list is cleared and I have to re-add everything.

Is this normal or is there some other setting I'm missing?

Thanks.

Private Browsing, you're not using, Never remember history or Always use private browsing mode?

Solved. So it wasn't private browsing or "Never remember history" but under "clear history when Firefox closes," only "Site settings" is checked with some websites as exceptions. Despite them being exceptions, the remember settings clear. Unchecking "Clear history when Firefox closes" solves the issue which is strange cause the websites are listed as exceptions so they shouldn't be affected but somehow are. Guess that's a different issue but my issue is solved.

Wanted to follow up. With the latest rollout, this issue is still occurring.

Can you please file a bug in bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Firefox&component=IP%20Protection component? Thanks.

Thanks. I submitted the bug.

Hi,

Could you please share a link?

Also, is the issue specific to the VPN, or do some other Firefox settings reset on restart?

After testing, looks to be any sort of exception (I tested under Privacy and security > Browsing data > Manage exceptions & Permissions and data > Manage exceptions). None save when I close and re-open the browser.

Bonjour

Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-use-firefox-without-history Starting with Firefox version 151, Private Browsing mode now allows users to instantly clear all data from their current session without closing the entire browser. When you click the Clear Private Session button (the fire icon) to the right of the address bar, Firefox will ask you to confirm to clear your session.

Just a question, are you under private browsing?

No, this is normal browser, not private windows. I've also tried with extensions disabled to see if there were any conflicts but still won't save. This happens on both of my computers.

Private Browsing, you're not using, Never remember history or Always use private browsing mode?
