firefox search box not working and goes to the address bar in version 148.0

1219patrickm, if you are referring to the search box that appears on the new tab page, then yes they have removed the ability to search directly from this box. Searches will instead be handed off to the address bar.
However, they say that this is temporary and that the ability to use the search box will be restored in a future update.
