Usually Linux includes a package manager to install applications and update them. Can you check whether newer versions of Firefox or Firefox ESR are available there?

I cannot find a "package manager". Anything with "manager" in it requires a password. None of the passwords I setup in Firefox work, I am completely stopped. Nothing I have seen says anything about getting newer version. Is there a place in Oregon City/ Portland Oregon I can go to get help?

I'm nowhere near Portland, OR myself, but I assume there are typical computer shops and BestBuy "Geek Squad" counters in the area. Depending on which flavor of Linux you use, there might be a support forum to help with updating your system and that might take care of the common applications, too.
