is there a way to get the old menu for the 3 dots back
The new menu doesn't have an option to create a new tab and it also looks worse

Apologies if you don't like the new UI. However, you should be able to open a new tab normally. Can you elaborate why you couldn't create a new tab like usual?
My usual is opening a new tab with the 3 dots at the top right i could open one with the tab page but it just doesn't feel right

I know it takes time for people to get used to the new change. As for the feedback on the new UI, I'd recommend the same thing that Paul mentioned above. Please open a new idea on https://connect.mozilla.org/ (this is our official feedback platform) so people can vote on it and we can share the feedback with the team for consideration.
