Hi I’ve been a dedicated Firefox user since as long as I can remember across all my devices. Since buying an iPad Pro and setting up with Firefox, as I have on all my devices, on the iPad Firefox performance is really poor. Websites often freeze and downloading pdfs from websites or from SharePoint etc. often does not work. An empty file will be saved. When switching to another browser I don’t experience these problems and I have no other software problems on the iPad. Running Firefox 139.1 on iPadOS 18.5 on a 13” iPad Pro M4 (MVX33HC/A)

Can you please let me know what your proposed fixes are for this? Thank you and kind regards Ewald

Hi

I am sorry to hear that Firefox for iOS is crashing. I hope that we can help resolve this for you. Before following the steps below, please make sure that you have updated both your iOS device and Firefox for iOS to the latest versions available.

As a first step, close down many of the tabs that you have open to as few as possible. Does this help reduce the incidence of a crash?

If this does not resolve the issue, open the iOS Settings app, select General then iPhone Storage. Find Firefox and select Offload App. Does this help?

Failing that, we will need to look into this in more detail with some logs from inside your copy of Firefox for iOS. This article will walk you through getting both crash logs and Firefox logs. When you have them, please file them here (a GitHub account is required) so that our developers can look into this further for you.

I hope that this helps.

I have part of this problem, specifically PDFs downloading as empty files. Using Firefox on iPhone. I log into my work’s ERP where I can generate reports in PDF format. The PDF displays correctly in the browser, but saving the PDF only saves an empty file that is around 550 bytes. When I do the same on Safari there is no issue, the PDF saves correctly and I can open and view it in Files, in this specific case file size is 64 KB.
