Thunderbird crashes on startup, caused by Bitdefender

This problem started after the latest Firefox update was installed. I have looked in Thunderbird Solutions but with the only one that comes close to my problem the person was able to switch to a different profile. I don't have another profile that I can do that with. In another one the problem was solved with a bug fix in a newer version. I already have the newest version. ??? Please help.

The crash is caused by Bitdefender anti-virus, but at this time it's unclear whether Thunderbird can do something about it. You may want to complain about it to Bitdefender and hope they're going to fix it. Or get rid of Bitdefender altogether and stick with Microsoft Defender.

The crash should be gone with newer, current versions of Thunderbird.
