Thanks for your reply. This is malicious website that Nortons is blocking many times a day. It is not listed in the area you suggested. Nortons just lists the path of notification. so how do I tell Firefox to block it's entry thru Firefox, or is this not possible without blocking everything?

Someone was having this exact same problem with Avast this past July. It appears that website belongs to another program that tries to use Firefox to update itself.

In the support thread, they didn't figure out which program it was but you might be able to by comparing your installed programs to the programs he posted here & updating them or removing them: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/787350/usw9prmsrvscom/page-2#entry5540166

He was finally able to get rid of the threats that Avast was reporting from prmsvrs.com by following the helper's advice.

So you might want to post a thread there too if you wish to track down this threat. But I do suspect its a old program you have making that call to prmsvrs.com

Try changing the default browser to Edge and see if it stops trying to use Firefox.

While using Edge I did not have a problem. (Edge yuck! The amount of adds and other things.) The moment I went back to Firefox I had a statement from Nortons that it blocked prmsvrs.com. I went and removed some apps listed (I didn't have most of them) to no avail. It has changed now to fi11prmsvrs.com. By the way while writing this I had another attempt.

Do you have the same issue with Firefox in Safe Mode? https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-prmsrvs-com/

Does it make a difference if you set another browser as the default browser ?

Does it still happen in a new profile (without signing into sync account)? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile.
