Firefox will no longer open when dbl clicked - Windows 11 v 22h2
Hi folks, I tried to open my Firefox browser today and nothing happens when I dbl click on the icon. I tried uninstalling / reinstalling, no change. On the uninstall window it gives you the option to use the Firefox refresh / repair facility which I clicked but there is no response from the programme. I read through the trouble shooting tips and tried to bring up the profile manager using the windows - run box (firefox.exe - p) but nothing happens. I have disabled windows defender firewall and I use Webroot Anywhere secure which I also disabled but still wouldn't run.
Could anyone suggest anything else I might try - thank you.
Ben

Hi anyone that reads this & techguy150 - my issue has been resolved!
So I had the same issue with my Adobe Acrobat - dbl clicking wouldn't open the programme. Turns out it is some compatibility issue with Win 11 and the newer 64 bit versions of the software. I uninstalled Adobe 64 bit and reinstalled the same programme but the most up to date 32 bit version and this now works / opens normally.
I thought this may be the same issue with the 64 bit Firefox browser so uninstalled the 64 bit software I had installed and downloaded the 32 bit version from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release
I chose the Windows 32 bit version, installed it and now am able to open and use Firefox as before.
Until they update the 64 bit versions to deal with these compatibility issues, the fix is to use the 32 bit versions of the software. The lady at Adobe who I spoke to said this was an issue a lot of folks were having with their software so I imagine it may be the same with Firefox (or other newer 64 bit pieces of software).
Hope this helps.

Click the menu button.
Click Refresh Firefox… then Refresh Firefox in the confirmation window that opens. When finished, a window will list your imported information. Select whether you want Firefox to restore all or some windows and tabs and click the Let's go!

Thank you for the response - however isn't the menu button only available when the firefox browser screen is loaded?? When I dbl click the Firefox icon, it doesn't load anything thus I have no menu box from which I can refresh Firefox from.
If I go to add/remove programmes and click uninstall Mozilla then it gives a button to refresh from there (see screen print attached) but when I click it a text box flashes open and closes too quickly to read & nothing happens.
Uninstall / reinstall also doesn't solve the problem.
