cmd + v, + c, + x not working in google sheets

When I try to copy, cut or paste using (cmd + c, cmd + x, cmd + v) it doesn't work.

In order to do any of these actions I have to right click, and then get prompted to use the hot keys listed above and only then can I use them.

Inside the console I get this error: Empty string passed to getElementById(). 33522144307-waffle_js_prod_core.js:884:146

I have attached gifs of it happening.
