Couldn't access email via Firefox. So I trashed Firefox and can't get Firefox 2. Help

I couldn't get yahoo mail via Firefox2. For some unknown reason had two Firefox icons on dashboard. Both were Firefox, not Firefox2, which I've been using a long time. Is there some problem? Can't get access to Firefox 2. Thanks for your help

If you installed two different version of FireFox but didn't change the folder installed name to differentiate between the two. Removing one removes both and anything that was associated between those two are gone now.
