I'm trying to make it so I can require a password to open firefox settings menu. I'm not talking about primary/master password settings for sites, I mean clicking settings from the upper right three bar requires a password.

I'm setting up a laptop for my daughter, and I don't want her to be able to fiddle with them, and all google will show is the master PW thing that has nothing to do with what I'm trying to do

Thanks in advance

You can't protect access to about:preferences via a password, the only option is to use policies to lock specific settings

That is not available in the Firefox browser. The only password protection is; Use a Primary(Master) Password to protect stored logins and passwords {web link}

The password information is stored in two files in the profile folder. The files are encrypted. The Master Password adds another layer of security.

Note: Only the password files are protected.

Note: Only someone with access to the user's computer account will have access to any files.
