Have somebody that has a gmail account (they took care of all non-gmail content) and they want to reduce their google footprint, and asked me to help. It's been a long time since I had to do something like this, so I thought I would ask a few questions before just blindly stumbling around. they have about 8Gb of emails, and want to see if we can do the following: - keep the gmail account - copy all the gmail/gtask data to a pc with their PC email client - reduce the foot print in google so that perhaps only the last year or so's worth of emails are in the gmail cloud (maybe about 200Mb) - keep thunderbird synced with the gmail account (they use it with other devices also) I will install the app and check it out, so hopefully I'll know the answer to some of these questions below anybody responds... just thought if they are quick and easy to answer, this post might help shortcut the effort. questions: 1) does thunderbird support google tasks, natively or with an add-on? 2) is there a way to migrate data older than a certain date with Thunderbird? 3) is there a way to keep it synced AND ONLY KEEP gmails in the google cloud NEWER than a certain date? 4) are there any issues with a large migration like this, causing message duplicates etc. (I remember this kind of problem 10 or 15 years ago with Comcast and others) 5) any quirks with this kind of POP3/IMAP setup and Thunderbird?
