Switch from Chrome to Firefox
I have a Lenovo Yoga Tab 2 running Android 5.1 but Chrome no longer provides updates. If Firefox will continue to service 5.1 I would like to switch but I am not happy to disable Chrome and I am not sure whether force stop is the best approach. At present I have both installed. Would I see differences in the way that other apps perform if I make a switch ?

Firefox for Android is available for Android 5.1. In the Firefox for Android menu is the option to set it as your default browser on your Android device and that should take care of links from other apps.
I followed instructions but "clear defaults" was greyed out in Chrome and Firefox. Would force stop Chrome be an alternative approach ?

Since 2014 I have used Chrome as the only installed browser. Last month in response to withdrawal of support for Android 5.1 I installed Firefox as an alternative. I have set no defaults and there is no third browser. Thanks for your interest.
