"Othericon" error during upgrade to new version
The last couple of times I have upgraded Thunderbird to the latest release (most recently 91.4.1), I have gotten this error:
An unhandled exception occurred at $0B998B7F: ERegistryException: Failed to get data for value "OtherIcon"
$0B998B7F $0B998C4B $0B998C95 $761E9161 $7620A8F7 $7658D49F $76589D50 $76589D08 $0670119E $004020C0 $004013A8 $77477A9E $77477A6E
Any thoughts about what the cause of this might be? As far as I can tell, it hasn't caused anything to not work.

If is from what I read in your post a windows registry error. I suggest you reinstall Thunderbird to refresh the system integration (one of the few thing a reinstall affects)
Yes, that did the trick, thanks. A normal installation of a new version over the existing version did not help, but doing an uninstall and cleanup after using Revo Uninstaller Pro, and then installing the same version of Thunderbird that had given the error before did work with no error.
Just be very careful with revo. I have fielded more than my share of disaster stories here from folk that used it to delete their entire mail store.
