I want to transfer a Firefox profile from my old computer to a new computer. The online info has been distinctly unhelpful. I copied the profile from my old computer put it in the Profiles folder on my new computer but FIREFOX does not notice it. What is the problem?

It would be much simpler to use Sync.

You would have to transfer profiles.ini as well as that is the file that registers profiles. Otherwise you need to use the Profile Manager to register this profile and make it appear in the Profile Manager.

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately in the process of copying the profiles I somehow disabled the Mozilla profile on my old computer even though it is still in the same place. The Profiles folder has one file in it named qp75sxko.default but Firefox will no longer load because it says the profile is missing. What can I do to get it working?

This is about the profiles.ini file pointing to the wrong profile like I posted above.
