Thunderbird reopening old email at start up

I'm running 91.3.0.

I have 4 email that keep reopening every time I start Thunderbird. I close them, then close Thunderbird, but they keep reopening. I found an old suggestion to hit Alt-F, then exit, but that's not working.

Let me know.
