Recent issue. Have had Firefox for Fire TV for some time and recently the cursor has disappeared. Not just in YouTube but other places like weather - wherever one makes selections. Now, when I say “cursor”, I'm referring to the churning blue circle that one places on what one wishes to go to and clicks. One moves it around and places it in...whatever...and clicks. Like a mouse. But recently when I opened Firefox, I found I had no “cursor”. - no visible cursor anyway. I can scroll up and down (and side to side, etc., apparently) but have no visual way of knowing where the “cursor” is. I can even click and wherever the “cursor” is will open whatever it is on. But I can't see it and thus can't navigate as desired. Any ideas? Did I inadvertently "hide" it?

Also, for what its worth, at about the same time, I began to get a white box popping up with what appears to be info or tutorials when I push the bottom center button on the Firestick. I have no idea if it's related but...

Hi

Thank you for your question, I hope I can help.

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, scroll across to Settings.
  2. Select Applications and Manage Installed Applications.
  3. Find Firefox in the list, select it and choose Clear cache
  4. Tap the home icon on the Fire TV remote and restart your Fire TV device.

This should resolve the issues you are having, if not please let me know here and we can look into a different solution for you.

Thanks so much for the response but, sadly, it does not seem to fix the problem. I followed your directions but the issue remains the same. A page comes up as before but there is no visible cursor. I can scroll up and down but the scrolling is in more of a ratcheted manner than the previous smooth scroll down. And I have no way of knowing where the cursor is at any time. I did check in "Applications" and the cache is now 0.00B. Also, FWIW, I had previously tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it. What makes the cursor appear in the first place? As far as I can tell, everything is is as it was except for the absence of the churning circle. Again, thanks for the help. If you care to try something more, I will be most appreciative.

Okay, thank you.

Can you try the same process again, but instead of Clear cache, choose Clear data?

This will do a full reset of the app and remove any of your data and settings in it.

Thank you again. But, no, the problem persists. I do not consider myself a "techie" but I did find this (rather old article) - https://blog.tremend.com/mouse-cursor-disappears-in-firefox/. Might it offer any clues to what's going on? Or should I just consider a new/different browser? In any event, thank you again for your efforts.

Hi

I think that the article that you mention is related to the desktop copy of Firefox, not the version in your TV.

With there not being any update recently, I can only think that the issue you are seeing us related to your Fire TV device. Can you try clearing the cache (not data) from other apps you have installed?
