Extremely disappointed! Firefox forgot all my tabs although I carefully configured the opposite!

I installed Firefox on a MacBook Pro 13" (Mid 2012) with MacOS 10.15.7 Catalina. Before closing Firefox for the first time, I carefully opened settings and ticked "Restore previous session", under "Start" on the "General" settings page. But when I opened Firefox again, there were no tabs, just a "Welcome screen" as if it was the first time ever I use Firefox! This is extremely disappointing! I am really shocked! I had never thought that Firefox would screw me like this! I have been using Firefox on Windows and Ubuntu for many many years! I can add that it is Firefox 85.0.2. And now it updated itself to 86.0.

Hi Henrik, several Mac users report every week that their Firefox has no memory. Sometimes this is due to incomplete installation to the Applications folder, or the wrong icon on the dock. Can you review the following article to see whether those steps give you a permanent installation (with a stable profile)?

How to download and install Firefox on Mac

Mac and Firefox is the strangest couple I have seen... When I close the Firefox window with the red button in the upper left corner, Firefox isn't really 100% closed, and when I click on the icon in the Dock (which has a small black dot indicating it is somehow open), I get a new empty window... This does not make any sense!

They "Think Different"!

When you want to exit Firefox, use the Quit command on the Firefox menu.
