Default browser switched back to Google, why?

I'm relatively new to mozilla, came here to escape some google surveillance. I've been using duckduckgo through mozilla and I've had no complaints until just now I notice Google had been reset as my default browser. I know I went in originally and made duckduckgo the default but all of a sudden it changed.

Has this happened to anyone before? I'm not incredibly pleased, I'm glad I caught the error quickly before google mined too much data from my searches.

Google is a website/search engine. Not a browser.

Are you talking about the home page? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-set-the-home-page

Or the search engine? Type about:preferences#search<enter> in the address bar. You can select any search engine to be your default from here.

You can also remove any engine from here.
