Firefox will not open when clicked on
So up until very recently Firefox was working perfectly on my Windows 10 laptop. Now it will not open when I click on it. It has been my default browser and when I click on a link someone sends me, Firefox opens with no problem. It just will not open when I click on it in the task bar. I have uninstalled/reinstalled it, I have refreshed it as suggested, and I have deleted the processes within Task Management. None of the things suggested so far in the Community Support has worked. It is very frustrating so now I turn to those of you who might have encountered this problem and know a solution. It is also extremely frustrating and disappointing that the makers of this browser don't have a support number to help solve this kind of issue so I hope someone in this community can help! Thanks! So this morning I decided to try to install Firefox again. I did not do anything differently but for whatever reason it is now opening properly. The install looked differently this time compared to what I saw before, and I did not do anything in my file explorer including any Firefox related items. But like magic the program opened without any difficulty. I just wish I know why in case in happens again! Thanks to all who responded to my issue.

You are talking about the task manager icon? Try using the file explorer to go to the Firefox folder and starting the browser that way.
I meant the Firefox icon on the taskbar. I am wondering if there is something hidden and not really being deleted when I uninstall the program that remains and conflicting with a newly reinstalled program that is causing the problem, I will try what you suggest when I reinstall the program later. Other thoughts and ideas would be most welcome!
Can you hold down the shift key and then right click on the Firefox icon to show the properties? The screenshot is from my icon on the taskbar.

It could have been a corrupt file that was overwritten.
