New device, verification email "returned", account locked.

I tried to set up Firefox on a new device, when I logged in it sent a verification email (I made sure typed it in correctly). I kept refreshing my inbox and checking spam folder on my other device but nothing came. I clicked "resend" and I got an error saying my verification email was returned, and that my account is now locked.

When I clicked on the support I logged in to this very community support forum using the same email and password I tried to log in into my account with!

Something is wrong with your verification email system and now I can't log in and sync my new device anymore :/

What can I do?

Hi, is the primary email address on your account a Gmail address? Google has been having some issues. The Gmail outage may be rejecting messages to your account from the Firefox Account server, or the problem may be very intermittent.

I suggest waiting until we hear more from the Firefox Accounts team on whether they can do something on the back end for all Gmail users affected by lockouts.

Yes, you are correct, gmail servers are down. But now I have no idea what to do, I hope Firefox accounts team sees this and gives a solution.

Are they monitoring this forum? What is the average response time from them in your experience? Sorry if I sound impatient, but this is really hurting my ability to work.

I have this issue too. I'm pretty annoyed that Mozilla are denying me access to my own data. As soon as the first verficiation email was sent I realised the alias it uses wasn't set up on my new email provider, and set it up. Retrying just gave the same error even though I tested the alias was set up and it worked, and eventually my account was locked with absolutely no warning whatsoever. Now I need access to my data and support on Twitter are not responding, and the 'let us know' link on the 'account locked' page only leads to this generic knowledgebase which is of no help at all, rather than a contact link where I can *actually* let you know.

Where does the "let us know" link lead? I think people had to file a bug in Bugzilla during the Gmail outage (or wait 24 hours and try again).
