Hi, could you expand on that:

Q1

Firefox doesn't always open a new tab for each page. If you close the tab, if it's the only tab, that will completely exit Firefox. Instead, you could return the tab to your Firefox home page using either:

  • click the Home button on the toolbar
  • press the keyboard shortcut Alt+Home

Actually, there is a way to keep Firefox open when you close the last tab. You could try this if you like:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste LASTTAB and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab preference to switch the value from true to false

With this change, if you close the last tab using the little x on the tab or the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+w, Firefox will open a new tab instead of exiting completely.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox.

Q2

To enlarge web content, I suggest using the Zoom feature. For example, hold down the Ctrl key and tap the + key once or twice. That keeps everything in proportion. It's possible to set a minimum font size, but this can lead to text not fitting completely in the space available. More details on both features in this article: Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages.

Does that help?
