i am currently using Thunderbird Version 68.11.0 - haven't had any problems - so far. Then all of a sudden it starts not working. I have not changed any settings whatsoever.

This message pops up: Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent It is a problem occurring only with our company's mail provider. The thing is it work just fine know it seems i can't even get any messages.

This is kind of urgent because i cannot work like this.

Please if you could help with any suggestions. Thanks a lot.

I've found a solution - i changed the connection security on server settings from STARTTLS to SSL/TLS.

that did it for me.

I've found a solution too .. try to change in THUNDERBIRD preferences editor security.tls.version.min from 3 to 1

From the menu at the top right, go to Options. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on Config Editor. Skip past the warning. Scroll down until you find security.tls.version.min (or paste security.tls.version.min to upper frame) Double click on it, and set the value to 1

I had to change from SSL to nothing insecure regarding safety of "exposed" password

email got out, but i did not get the error msg either however, none of the email made it to my gmail account yet nor is there anything in the saved folder of 4 domains other than gmail

I have the same problem since the recent upgrade. Turns out that the "sent" folder for one of my email accounts has just disappeared.

I've changed the setting to send sent email the Local Folders "Sent" folder, but would like to find out if I can restore the lost folder.

I've encountered the same problem, just out of the blue, after TBird updated itself to 78.5.1.

It's a real pain in the patootie!. Can anybody present a solution? None of the aforementioned seem to apply.

Here is my solution:

click on the burger menu (the three parallel lines on top of each other) in the top right corner In the drop down menu choose Account Settings Under the relevant email on the left choose Copies & Folders Under When sending messages, automatically: tick the box Place a copy in: touch the button Other: click on the inverted caret on the right to select the correct file from the drop down menu (or to create it)
