I have been happily using FF for android as my default browser on my tablet for some years. It recently updated to 79.0.2, which I am busy adjusting to!

Could the development team please consider adding "android" to the extensions library search filter "operating systems". At the moment the only options are "all", "windows", "mac os" and "linux".

Most of the extensions/add-ons previously compatible are no longer compatible for this latest update, but I have not yet found a way to find out which ones are compatible. Clicking on 'add-ons' in the menu only gives a list of 6 "recommended" add-ons. I have been wasting a lot of time browsing the FF extensions library, finding one that looks interesting, trying to install it only to be notified that "this extension is not compatible with android". Adding "android" to the extensions library "operating systems" filter would avoid this time-wasting, and should (I hope) be relatively easy to implement. I suspect that many other users others would find this helpful.

Anyway, my thanks to you all for your hard work on this great browser!

That would not work at the present time, but we hope to make more add-ons available soon.

Hi

The add-ons that are currently available for this update are listed under add-ons in the Firefox for Android menu.

I hope this helps.

Make sure you are on https://addons.mozilla.org/android/ as https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ is for desktop Firefox (Windows, Mac, Linux) though a small number listed there may be for Android Firefox also.

Seburo, James, thanks for your comments. I was indeed looking at https://addons.mozilla.org/android/, which lists 9395 extensions. When I click on "addons" in the menu on my browser, and go to "add-ons manager", it lists the 3 add-ons I have enabled, and then 6 "recommended" add-ons that I don't have. There is no link there to a mozilla android add-on page that I can see that would would give me any other choices, or am I missing something?

Does that mean that there are only 6 other add-ons that are currently compatible?!

PS Note it also lists 7 add-ons I had installed but which are no longer compatible. One of them allowed me to listen to an audio stream on one tab while looking at another tab. I can no longer do that on the 79.0.2 version. Do you know a workaround?

PPS I would have added a screenshot, but when I click on the "browse" button, nothing happens. The ff app has storage permission (android 10).

Hi

The add-ons listed in the menu in Firefox for Android are those currently available for the browser. We hope to more to this list in future updates

Seburo, thanks for your clarification, fair enough, I can wait for more add-ons to be added on. And the new version seems definitely faster, so thanks again to you and all the other developers!

How about my suggestion to add "android" to the list of options in the "operating systems" filter in the extensions page of the mozilla site?
