External camera not being recognised

I have a JVC G3 digital camera plugged into my MacBook Air via the thunderbolt port which I use when live-streaming.

When using Quicktime or Chrome, I can select the G3 camera instead of the HD FaceTime built-in camera with the pull down menu.

However in the FireFox camera menu, only the HD FaceTime camera is available so I cannot use it.

Firefox version is 76.0.1 (64 bit) Macbook is late 2016 Air running macOS Mojave 10.14.6

I don't understand why it works on some programs but not on Firefox - can anybody help please?
