You can change your download path from here..

settings >>> General >>> Files and Application

Let me try to clarify. When you choose to download an item, you get a pop-up window requesting what to do with it (please see attached). I don't want to set how it handles a particular file type, as in Settings > General > Files and Applications. It pops-up with the selection to "open" checked as default, I want to be able to set it to "save" as default. I know it's just one click but I'll be doing it dozens of times in one sitting (hundreds of times a month) and just want to save the time. Please let me know if I can be more clear.
