when i launched firefox this morning, my profile was gone. I resynchronized, but it didn't load my profile. When I go to "about profile" none of the profiles offered matches mine. What should I do?

What profiles do you see if you check this directly in your home directory ?
- ~/.mozilla/firefox/
You can check the compatibility.ini file in a profile to see the file installation path and Firefox version that last used the profile and you can also check the modified dates of files in the profile folder.
