Background or in Tray work. Why not to add this function?
Hello. I like to answear for my emails as soon as possible. Why Thunderbird cant work in the Tray? Now I stick on the 60 version because very handy addon FireTray. I was try MinimizeOnClose but this is not what I want. Why, if you broke compatybility with some addons, dont propose some simillar solutions? Now Im expert about TB rollback. This is simple ->Disable autoupdate->Rename application.ini->then after installing previous version you will not be warned about profile changes/incompatibility :D But this should not be like that I think... I will not update TB till background function will be implemented or rather migrate for another client. This is sad...

I went to the add on MinimizeOnClose page and the first thing I see is a link to another project that does exactly what you want but as an external program not an add-on.
As the minimizetotray addon will apparently not be resurrected, (it was only ever supported to Version2), and the Thunderbird project made a decision more than a decade ago that they would not be having a minimize to tray feature, I suggest you do whatever you like. There is a new bug on the subject, but what will happen is anyone's guess. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1486221
I would use one of the programs that does what you want with the current version. But if you want to use an insecure version go right ahead. There is nothing like putting aesthetics above security.

Im not that kind of people that dont give the software a try :P I purhase some of the listed software for push any software into tray for 9$ and upgrade into newest TB. One disconivienance or even bug I saw is that when I sent from my phone and another client four messages to Me then only one envelope in the TB will appear and even after mouse hovering it tells "One message.." But offcorse after click for unreaded popup four...
Thank You for yo hints but somethings steel not working here. My 60TB with MinimizeToTray always shows how many unread messages I miss.
BTW. Why people must beg for such a function that can be purhased in another way...Tell them "you must pay for addon and then this will be done"...
Maybe someone should add "how obtain this basic future" in the FAQ...

Yeah I will try it... When I want to fight with my computer We playings chess...What if I dont want to fight with My computer and manage my emails? Because I must with this software.
