I tried to restore the previous backed up profile on a new computer, the first time it loaded all the imap folder structure, but once I closed the thunderbird and open it again, all the imap folders were gone. Since I don't have the access to the online mailbox anymore, is there any way to properly restore and keep the all imap folders without the user account?

I found the solution by myself, just need to set the "panacea.dat" file to ready only after copying whole profile folder to new computer.

Very, very bad idea. IMAP is removed because it no longer exists. Many folks appear to think they have a local copy. They do not! Continuing with data corruption by marking files read only will only make things worse into the future.

Better approach, import the mail to a local folder using the import export tools. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools-ng/?src=ss

Then the mail in in local folders that are not dependent on the existence of an account or connectivity to a server.
