can not log in becasue i cannot receive the 6 digit authorization code

i had an email domain that expired. i will never be able to check that email again. my hard drive is unreadable. i installed a new hard drive and reinstalled firefox. i signed in with the correct user name and password. firefox then tries to send me an email with an authorization code. as that email does not exist, i will never get the code. please help. i am having to submit this question from another firefox account that i use at work.

if you have any device with your Firefox account logged in, you can try to change your account e-mail or log in settings there. otherwise, if Firefox doesn't offer any access recovery at the page where you have to type in code, looks like your account is lost forever, just deal with it, that's all for security.

Not sure I appreciate your “just deal with it” response. Before I give up on 5 years of password, I would like to know if you are qualified in giving an answer.

I can't say that I also had that problem, but sometimes there are situations, where you can't recover your access to account. if there aren't any instructions on log in page or you don't have access to your account on another device, I don't think that your problem have a solution.

If you can't respond to a confirmation email or otherwise have access to this Sync account then you can consider this account as lost and you will have to setup a new Firefox Account with another email address.

There would not be any possible way to help. If you don't have access to the email address attached to the account, there would be no possible way to verify that you are indeed the account owner.

The thread that cor-el linked above is an ongoing discussion about how the contributors here can help users escalate specific Firefox Account related issues to someone at Mozilla that would actually be able to help. But, it wouldn't cover a case like this.

Unfortunately, like the other two contributors said above, your account is as good as gone without access to the email address.
