It began with Firefox Sync...and then I lost a lot of files
Firefox Sync asked me to log in...and I did...but did not change my password...and the next thing I saw was that all data I'd saved to my Desktop was gone. It was repopulated by the backup service, but everything came back jumbled and unorganized. (For example, some very old files, from 2011, were now on the desktop.) When I went into the Word for Mac app, most of my documents were gone. I asked the backup service to repopulate, but I have nearly 300,000 files and after 48 hours only 1100 files were restored (or re-written?). At that point, I took the laptop to a data recovery service, they examined the solid state drive, and found no data to recover. Is there anyone who can give me an explanation of what happened, and a solution for how to get my files back?
