when i forward an email that has an attachment, the attachment does not go, how do i fix this

example, i have received an email that has an attachment with it, i want to forward the email with the attachment to someone else, so i click on forward put in the address and send but the attachment does not go with it. What am i doing wrong? i have not had this problem with other email programs in the past. Regards
