Thunderbird not showing any messages, contacts, addressbooks etc how to fix?

This is how Thunderbird presented itself this morning. (cf screenshot) I can't see any of my mails, no contacts available, no address books, ... I cannot write a message. But under "Get message" I see my accounts. I tried by deleting the *.msf files, but these were not rebuild. I tried reinstalling - no changes so far.

So actually I'm lost. Does anyone know how to bring Thunderbird back to life?

This is the same issue as the one reported by horseybob a few hours later.

I tried reinstalling Thunderbird 60.9 an all is back in place. I disabled automatic update, but this can't be a solution.
