Hello i have some problems with thunderbird. Some of my emails are just empty after archiving (screen included). This emails are very important for me, so I need to get them back. First two emails are fine, but any other is "broken". Any idea how to get them back?

What OS do you use? What version of Thunderbird are you using? What server do you use eg: gmail ? Are you talking about an imap mail account ? Did you archive emails from an imap folder to another imap folder in same mail account or archive to a folder in 'Local Folders' mail account ?

It also seems odd that all the 'broken' emails have the same date and time.

I'm using Win10 x64. Thunderbird version: 60.9.0 (x86) .Server : nazwa.pl (very popular and stable in Poland). Yes I'm using IMAP. I have archived mails to local computer (every user in our company have 1 gb of space so we need to archive mails locally)

I have problem with two folders, other 10 archived looks fine.

Check what is stored: Help > Troubleshooting Information Click on 'Open Folder' button A window opens showing the contents of your profile name folder. Exit Thunderbird.

click on 'Mail' folder click on 'Local Folders' folder You should see files that have the same name as the folder. mbox files contain emails - they do not have any extension mbox files can be opened using a text editor like Notepad Emails are written to the file in the order downloaded, so oldest should be at the top and newest at the bottom.

The image you supplied is only correctly showing two emails, dated 09/07/18 and 26/07/18, so you should see those two emails one after the other and if they are the oldest then they would be the first two emails. What do you see in the contents of that mbox file?

I can see only this two emails and a lot of:

rom - Mon Aug 26 08:47:31 2019 X-Mozilla-Status: 0011 X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000 X-Mozilla-Keys:

From - Mon Aug 26 08:47:31 2019 X-Mozilla-Status: 0001 X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000 X-Mozilla-Keys:

From - Mon Aug 26 08:47:31 2019 X-Mozilla-Status: 0001 X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000 X-Mozilla-Keys:

etc.

So probably I will never get back my emails.

Not unless you had a backup.

Suggestion for future reference. Download / synch folders for offline use. In offline mode (I suggest this because it stop synchronisation whilst you are doing alot of moving of emails) Highlight emails Right click on highlighted emails and use the 'Copy-to' option and select 'Local Folders' > folder name.

Using 'Copy to' instead of 'Move to' means the original is still on server, so if the emails in Local folders do not look correct, you have not lost anything off server and you can check to see if they look correct in original imap folder. If you cannot read emails in imap folder whilst in offline mode then they were not fully downloaded. This means you can check to see if that imap folder was set up to synch for offline in the first place, fix the problem and try again.

Using Offline mode is really useful when you need to get copies of a lot of emails.

The problem is that in my job we have only like 1GB of email storage per user, so we need to create emails backup on hard disk and we cannot store all emails in server.

Anyways, thanks for help. Next time I will be better prepared for doing things like this
