Firefox won't play audio when connected to Android Auto

When I attempt to play a YouTube video through Firefox (Google Pixel 3 XL) while connected via USB to Android Auto on my car (2017 Ford Escape) the audio will only play for one second (at most) and then the YouTube video pauses. It will not continually play. But, when I disconnect from the car, it works fine and plays normally. I use this setup to listen to audiobooks that are on YouTube during my commute (I use Firefox so I can turn the screen off).

This is a new issue as this did not happen before this week. Nothing has changed (that I can tell). All other audio works just fine when connected to Android Auto, just not the Firefox audio. Perhaps something has changed between the two apps that cause this bug? Anyone else seen this happen?
