I want to be able to view files online without having to download them
Everytime I want to look at a file online I have to first download it then have to save it and go to the downward facing arrow and then view it. In most cases I simply want to download it and view it without saving.
Thank you
Tom

Could you check your PDF setting? This article will get you to that part of the Options page:
View PDF files in Firefox or choose another viewer
Is the Preview in Firefox option listed and selectable?

Whether you want to download a file or just view it, the file is still downloaded. If you select to view the file, it is downloaded to temporary storage. at some point, the temp folder is cleaned out.
Thank you, but whenever I select a PDF or any file to look at online a window opens up to D/L it to documents before I can view it.

Still having the problem. I am using Adobe to view the files. So is the reader is determining weather I can simple view the files then decide to D/L and it is not a function of Firefox?

Hi tom3holer, what did you select?
- Preview in Firefox: shows the PDF in a tab in Firefox
- Always Ask: shows the download dialog (Open, Save, Cancel)
- Save File: saves without asking
- Use Adobe Acrobat: open in Adobe without asking
When Firefox "opens" a download, the file is kept in the Windows Temp folder. When Firefox "saves" a file, it is stored in your Downloads folder or if you set Firefox to let you choose the folder, the folder you chose.
