I have Firestick 4K. I used to be able to watch Instagram story videos with the Firefox browser on my TV up until yesterday, now it still shows story photos but Instagram story videos (or movies) only play sound and have a black screen. Why? I can't figure out how to update Firefox on my Firestick either, is that the problem? Thank you.

Hi

I do not use Instagram myself, but do you have a public link to a video so that I can look into this here?

Thank you, here's a link. Note that sometimes Instagram stories are photos, not always videos. The photos work fine for me but the videos only play sound and have a black screen,

Thank you so much for that link. It really helped me to look into this issue.

I see what you mean about how some "stories" are videos and others still pictures. I made sure to test this on a couple of videos. When I did, the video played and the sound was audible.

I certainly think it would be a good idea to make sure your Fire device is up to date. From the Amazon home screen, select Settings, then My Fire TV. Then select About and at the bottom of the list, you should see Install Update and should be able to select that option to install any updates.

This will make sure that your Fire TV device is up to date, but you may also want to make sure that your copy of Firefox is up to date as well. In Firefox, select the three line ("hamburger") button on the remote and move the cursor across to the cogwheel icon (next to the Firefox logo, top right). In the settings menu that opens, you should a version on the top line of "Firefox for Fire TV 3.5-RO". Does yours say this, or does it have something different?

Much thanks for your help, Seburo. I updated my Firestick as you described, then I went to Firefox, clicked on the cogwheel, then on "About" and it says:

Firefox for FireTV 3.4-B
