I want to make sure I'm not sending a virus in this attachment because it automatically attaches itself to outgoing messages. Additionally, when I virus scan, 2 trojans turn up in thunderbird nearly every time. I delete them and they show up again the next day. Michael thanks for whatever advice.

are you using enigmail or some other mail encryption tool? IT sounds like it to me.

I don't even remember installing enigmail, but the plugin is listed in my email security preferences. How do I disable it? Simply, untick the boxes in the enigmail program? thanks so much for your timely response to my previous message

any suggestion for an android app that syncs with Lightning?

The normal approach is have your calaendar hosted on a caldav compliant server (gmail is the obvious one)

Then have the calendar synced from the server to Thunderbird (Calendar on the network) and your android calendar.
