Need backup advice
I have Win 7, latest versions of Thunderbird and Firefox.
My computer died and needed repairing, easily done with a Win 7 repair disk. Unfortunately something is still amiss with the computer, and I wish to use a backup to restore the computer to how it was prior to the crash. The C drive has the OS and software, with data on another drive, which has the backups. I want to keep Thunderbird and Firefox settings as they are now as this will avoid downloading emails that I have already downloaded.
There are two folders appdata\roaming\Thunderbird\profiles\tb.default\*.* appdata\roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles\ff.default\*.* which seem to have the current Thunderbird and Firefox settings.
I'm thinking of copying the above two folders to another dive, running the backup to make the computer pre-crash, and then copying the two folders to the C drive.
Advice is sought. Would the above work and is there anything else I need to know? Also, is there a way of getting email notification when a reply is posted? TIA

Hi, please ask Thunderbird questions over here and there is info there also : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird

In your Profile folder :

Never work with original files.

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.2 with a Full Version Installer
Thank you. The export advice is especially useful. I'm posting the same question in the Thunderbird area. Not solved, need TB information.
