Bookmarks and profile disappeared help
Recently for some reason my entire history of 5 years of bookmarks completely disappeared!!! What the heck?!! I did about:profiles, there seems to be only one, the current one!!!!!!!!!!
I checked the firefox profiles in APPDATA and there is a list. There are many backups of bookmarks during May. But I see from May 19th and May 20th the size of the backups are only 1kb. Before it was over 22,000. How can I implement those files to the new version of FF?
Also will it bring back my quick link book marks at the top of the browser page under the back/forward keys?

How many profiles do you have in "AppData\Roaming"?
On Windows 7 there are two options to recover lost bookmarks.
One is to restore a bookmark's JSON backup from the bookmarkbackups folder.
- Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-bookmarks-from-backup-or-move-them
Another possibility is to restore an older copy of places.sqlite (bookmarks and history).
You can check in Windows Explorer if there is a previous version of the file available.
- right-click: Properties -> Previous Versions

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Ok thank you, that sort of worked, but how to bring back or get it to recall the quick bookmarks that I had listed under the web address bar? I had about 10 there for quick access to things I used a lot. Now they are all gone and I don't remember all the addresses.
Hi, it will not recall them. You will need to drag them up to the bar from open Bookmarks from the Bookmarks ToolBar Folder
They were never bookmarked, and if they were, I have no idea where in my 10000s of bookmarks they are.. Why does FF do this????? I am about ready to switch back to Opera!
Toolbar folder is also empty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all of my history is also gone!
