i successfully migrated thunderbird to new laptop, will mail still go to old computerr or what?
can i keep thunderbird on old laptop or should i remove it?

If you open Thunderbird on your old computer, and it is still connected to the internet, yes, it will download new messages.
If your account type is set to IMAP, it shouldn't be an issue. Messages will be sent to both computers. The nice thing is that Thunderbird defaults to IMAP account type, so if you're not sure of the account type, it is most likely IMAP. You can check in Account Settings > Server Settings.
