had zeus virus sdam, refreshed firefox, couldn't open browsers due to certificate issue, now need to choose a profile but there two of them, which one do I use?
I had a pop up with a fake Zeus Virus scam that wanted me to call a tech support hotline. I knew it was fake and tried to research how to get rid of it. I refreshed my FF but couldn't open any website at all due to not having current certificates. Is that a scam too? I got to a point where I am told to choose a profile and it says: Firefox stores information about your settings, preferences and other user items in your user profile. There are two user profiles. My choices are to create, rename or delete the profile, another option is to work offline but the box that is checked is: Use the selected profile without asking at startup. Both profiles say default. How do know which one to use? I can't use FF until this is done. Right now I am using Microsoft Edge to access the internet.

Refresh of FF will not remove the virus infection. You first need to get rid of the Virus infection before doing anything else. Also can you use other Browser because if you search online you will also find help on the zeus virus scam. At this point if you can't get rid of it then you need to take it to a computer shop to help with this. FF forum is a End user forum to help with FF browser issues not something else caused by virus. Virus get loaded only by the user clicking on something else and by the time you see the message it is already to late. The virus is now in your system and removing FF will not get rid of it as it is now hiding in plain site but your A/V software will not see it.
